A. P. DONAGHHO : STONWARE FRUIT JARS

Alexander Polk Donaghho who was from Fredericktown, Pa. would move to Parkersburg, Pa. in 1870. Here in 1874 he would open a pottery business. He purchased 14 acres near Bull Creek which was known for its clay. This site was also called Pottery Junction. The pottery company operated from 1874 to 1903. A. P. Donaghho would die in 1899 at the age of 70. His son Walter took over control of the company.

The A. P. Donaghho Jars are very collectable. All of his hand decorated jars were done before 1880. After 1880 a stencil was used. Below are photos of two of his wax groove sealer jars.
