On certain colors the lighting can change the color to appear to take on several different shades or tint differents. This is what I call the Chameleon Effect. The Greeley's Bourbon Bitters barrels are one that are well known for having the Chameleon effect. Below are pictures of different colored Bitters and Whiskey Barrels that are photgraphed in three different lighting environments. The first picture is outdoors with no direct sun light. The second picture is indoors in a back lighted cabinet. Finally the third pic is indoors on a window ledge with direct sun light. The barrels below are labeled with the color what they were called when I aquired them. Color is in the eye of the beholder i guess.
