JOHN C. HURST : RISING SUN BITTERS

The John C. Hurst's Son & Co. was importers and wholesale dealers in English, French, German drugs, chemicals, paints, oils and window glass. The company was located at 925 Market St. Philadelphia, Pa. in the 1870s and 986 Market St. in the 1880s. The firm also was proprietors and manufacturers of the Rising Sun Bitters. Below is a photo of this bottle. The embossing reads, JOHN C. HURST / PHILADA // RISING SUN // BITTERS.

Other products that the John C. Hurst's Son & Co manufactured were Hurst's Hair Cosmetic, Hurst's Nerve & Bone Liniment, Hurst's Asiatic Cholera Mixture, Hurst's Pulmonaria Syrup, Hurst's Stove Lustre, Fickard's Celebrated Cattle Powder, Hurst's Ess Jamaica Ginger and also three different lines of White Lead Paints.
